MU Outreach Activities
Bendigo MU has outreached in so many ways at the time and are still continuing to do so.
Footscray Sudanese Community
• Bendigo MU have supported the Footscray Sudanese Committee over the past years by inviting them to spend a weekend or a day in the country.
Bride magazine
• MU inserted an ad in the Bride magazine produced by a local Bendigo newspaper in which we encouraged young people to ‘Join the Love Triangle’ and ‘Let God Bless Your Marriage’ in contrast to the glitz and glamour emphasis.
Other Activities
• Rugs Ministry outreach
• Comfort teddies
• Prem baby clothes
• Scarves and beanies for the homeless and seafarers
• Made recipe folders
• Kitchen packs
• Gave copies of ‘The Five Love Languages’ for those about to be married
• Laminated recipe books for a local women’s Tarrengower Prison which hopefully will lead to visits and possibly literacy support
The Diocesan Prayer
Generous God, thank you for the Diocese of Bendigo,
the beautiful mountains, hills, plains and native forests that make up our environment.
Bless the cities, towns and rural areas; and the parishes and congregations
in which we live and serve.
Give us vision, energy and hope to be a Missionary Church. By the Spirit's gifts equip us to live the Gospel of Christ and make us eager to do your will, that we may share the joys of the whole creation;
Through Jesus Christ your Son, our Lord. Amen
